Brief history

HardSID is a spare-time hobby project. It was started by two Middle Eastern - European guys in 1998. We shortly released our ISA based cards in 1999. The original idea was to upload the documentation to our homepage and let everyone to build it. ..but it was far too complicated, so everyone asked us to build the cards for them. After some hesitation, we decided to start building the cards instead of forcing people to build their own.
Later we moved from the ISA bus to the PCI bus and released our new WDM drivers for the newer OSs.

Present

In 2008 we released our most advanced product: The HardSID 4U. It connects to the PC via USB, comes with Vista compatible drivers and it is driven by a brand new VSTi interface.

Today the HardSID name is well known by the musicians and C64 fans. The quality of our hardware/software makes many people think that we have a HardSID factory and we make our living as a professional instrument manufacturer company. We're very proud of that fact, although this is very far from the truth. Our products are still assembled mostly by hand and we still have our daytime jobs. We're glad that the quality reflects our enthusiasm.
